Born in Dhanyaghori, a remote village in Howrah district, Dr. Prabir Bhaumik overcame numerous challenges to become a leading light in pediatric care. Inspired by his parents and a deep-seated vision to serve the needy, he left a secure government role early in his career to establish specialized neonatal and infant clinics in rural Bengal, bringing modern infrastructure to underserved children.

According to Dr. Bhaumik, newborns must be kept warm, bathed regularly, kept away from direct harsh sunlight, and not subjected to cosmetic kohl (kajal). Massage with pure coconut oil is highly recommended as it fosters mother-child bonding.
